The Stone Avenue Train Station Reconstruction Project is intended to improve connectivity and accessibility near and to the Stone Avenue Train Station. The specific scope of work includes improved pedestrian interconnectivity between platforms, train station, Burlington Avenue, Brainard Avenue and Hillgrove Avenue; removing the drop off area on Hillgrove Avenue and replacing it with diagonal parking; and increased bicycle parking on both sides of the tracks.
The project is being funded through a combination of sources including the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Program, West Suburban Mass Transit District, Metra, and the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA). The estimated construction budget for this project is $1.4M and is anticipated to begin late July of 2018.
The Village of La Grange has acquired Thomas Engineering Group, LLC (TEG) to provide Phase III Construction Engineering services along the course of the project. TEG will be on-site during all project work activities and will administer the contract from conception through completion. TEG should be considered as all project stakeholders’ primary point of contact for any questions or concerns regarding the work.
The work has been awarded to Kovilic Construction Company, Inc. and is anticipated to be completed in November of 2018.
