Our team is looking for a Municipal Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of engineering tasks, working collaboratively with colleagues on planning and executing municipal projects from initial concept to final completion.

 

A potential candidate will be expected to work independently or within multi-discipline teams to perform studies and plan development for the planning and design of municipal roadway and utility projects. Ideally, this candidate can immediately begin to demonstrate proficiency in Phase I studies, roadway geometrics, alternatives analysis, cost estimating, and preparation of plans and specifications for roadway and utility projects.


Responsibilities

  • Organization, coordination, and control of all technical stages of project development and plan preparation

  • Design and analyze traffic patterns, geometric layouts, and roadway alignments.

  • Prepare contract plans, technical memoranda, reports, specifications, bid documents, and feasibility studies while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Perform and coordinate planning, permitting, studies, and cost estimation for municipal projects.

  • Manage projects involving various infrastructure funding sources.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by attending meetings, addressing project needs, and resolving issues throughout the project lifecycle.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school.

  • 3+ years of experience in the AEC industry.

  • Experience in AutoCAD or MicroStation is a plus.

  • Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure is preferred.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • A valid U.S. driver’s license.

  • Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident (without sponsorship)


Salary Range

  • $75,000 - $90,000
