Our team is looking for a Municipal Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of engineering tasks, working collaboratively with colleagues on planning and executing municipal projects from initial concept to final completion.
A potential candidate will be expected to work independently or within multi-discipline teams to perform studies and plan development for the planning and design of municipal roadway and utility projects. Ideally, this candidate can immediately begin to demonstrate proficiency in Phase I studies, roadway geometrics, alternatives analysis, cost estimating, and preparation of plans and specifications for roadway and utility projects.
Responsibilities
Organization, coordination, and control of all technical stages of project development and plan preparation
Design and analyze traffic patterns, geometric layouts, and roadway alignments.
Prepare contract plans, technical memoranda, reports, specifications, bid documents, and feasibility studies while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Perform and coordinate planning, permitting, studies, and cost estimation for municipal projects.
Manage projects involving various infrastructure funding sources.
Build and maintain strong client relationships by attending meetings, addressing project needs, and resolving issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
3+ years of experience in the AEC industry.
Experience in AutoCAD or MicroStation is a plus.
Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure is preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
A valid U.S. driver’s license.
Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident (without sponsorship)
Salary Range
$75,000 - $90,000
